TCLS – Transforming Lives, Cultivating Success

TLCS has transformed and empowered the lives of people with mental illness in Sacramento since 1981. For 35 years supporting independence and preventing homelessness has been our number one priority. This year TLCS is excited to participate in WOW916 with Michael McDaniel, a TLCS Personal Services Coordinator and Northern California artist.

Michael McDaniel has overcome significant challenges to reach a point in his life where he can use his art to manage his mental health symptoms as well as assist others to do the same. Michael‘s bio shows tremendous resilience along with great talent.

DDSO – Developmental Disabilities Service Organization

From two sites in Sacramento and one site in Stockton, Developmental Disabilities Service Organization (DDSO) is an award-winning nonprofit that annually provides 400 adults with disabilities the opportunity to experience independence, job training, employment, physical education, visual and performing arts, life skill building, social interaction, active participation in the community, nurturing relationships and more.

SOL COLLECTIVE

Established in 2005, Sol Collective is a community-based partnership whose mission is to provide artistic, cultural, and educational programming, promote social justice, and empower youth through art, activism, music, and media experience.Sol Collective works to team young creatives with professional mentors across artistic disciplines, mobilize the arts as a means of community building and personal empowerment, and amplify the voice of underrepresented communities. The Sol Collective Arts and Cultural Center is a 3,200 square foot space in Sacramento providing art exhibitions, community workshops, youth programming, and a platform for public organizing.

Friends of the Arts Commission

Friends of the Arts Commission (Friends) promotes and supports the work of the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission (SMAC) through arts education and outreach programs, arts advocacy, fund development, and fiscal sponsorship of emerging arts organizations.
